Travelled the world and now have a canvas to stretch? Purchasing a canvas from other locations means there are different materials the canvas is painted on. At Frame Plus Art we stretch with different techniques specific to the canvas material.

Canvas stretching is done by cutting a stretcher bar which is then put together similar to a regular wooden frame. Once the frame is formed then the canvas is stretched around the bar and stapled to the back. We offer both your traditional stretcher bar and gallery stretcher bar for your unique look. As well we offer a black edge tape made specific for canvas which adds a unique finish to your canvas. We can event print onto canvas material to create an entirely new piece!

Do you have something you are looking to preserve but on a budget? Plaque Mount, also referred to as Perma Plaque, is a great way to protect your work at a reasonable price. We offer a variety of paint trim colours – painted by hand. We can even create a custom swatch for the perfect match. Plaque Mounting is great for corporate recognition gifts or certificates, and as display pieces for retail locations, offices, the home, etc.

Plaque Mounting is done by mounting the artwork onto a sturdy 3/8″ MDF board and heat sealed with a UV, matte laminate. This provids permanent protection from fingerprints, dirt, moisture and other contaminants. The edges of the plaque are then beveled and finished with your choice of colour.

We offer a variety of stretching techniques other than canvas. We can also determine whether stretching or not stretching is the best possible option for your work. The items that we suggest to be stretched include needlepoint, embroidery, cross stitch, and fabric panels. We encourage you to bring in your pieces for a free quote.
